NDP EMS ANNOUNCES DETAILS OF UPCOMING OPEN HOUSE CAREER EVENT - DESIGNED WITH HIGH SCHOOL AND COLLEGE-AGE STUDENTS IN MIND
NDP EMS announced today that it will be hosting an open house career event designed to provide prospective employees (ages 16 and up) with an understanding of the myriad career opportunities available at the company now and in the future.
The event will be held on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 from 6-8pm at the NDP EMS Rhinebeck headquarters location, located at 3 Hook Road in Rhinebeck. The open-house format will allow attendees to stop in for a brief visit or extended stay at whatever time works best during the 6-8pm timeframe. Guests will have a chance to experience open tours of ambulances, to watch demonstrations and learn about some of the first responder equipment, and to interact directly with NDP EMS team members who serve in roles as EMTs, Paramedics, trainers, administrators, and work in the finance/billing department.
The September 12th Career Open House event is open to those exploring career changes or encore careers, as well as high school and college-age students who want to take a gap year or begin getting professional experience while still in school. A full EMT course at NDP EMS will launch just two weeks after the open house event; that course is set to run from September 20th, 2023 through February, 2024 (and is pending NYS DOH approval).
Edward Murray, Founder of NDP EMS, shared: “We always say that when you work in our field, every call is a chance to make a difference. We want people of all ages to have a chance to understand and explore the various career options available at NDP EMS, particularly those younger folks who may not have considered this path previously or want to take a ‘gap year’ after graduating from high school. Not only will this event shed light on opportunities to become a Paramedic or EMT, but it will also provide attendees with an understanding of billing and training jobs as well.”
President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) Mark Browne started his career at the company in 1996 after graduating from Rhinebeck High School and Hudson Valley Community College. He noted: “NDP EMS has given people like me a chance to serve the very communities in which we live while enjoying generous compensation, robust benefits, and a positive workplace atmosphere where team members really feel like they are part of a family. I hope that our open house career event will inspire many others to consider pursuing a career in this field - there is something for everyone, and the sense of purpose and fulfillment that you get from working in any of these roles is hard to beat. And for those who are ready to get started, we will have registration available for the EMT training program which begins just two weeks after the career open house event.”
NDP EMS has recently been working to expand its workforce, and has made investments into state-of-the-art equipment and technology.
The company, which currently has approximately 140 employees, has added full-time, part-time, and per diem positions which are now available to Paramedics, EMTs, and support/administrative staff at the company’s various locations throughout the Mid-Hudson Valley and Litchfield County, Connecticut.
NDP’s comprehensive benefits package includes competitive compensation, flexible scheduling, health/dental insurance, vacation/sick time, 401K, professional development opportunities, and in some cases, tuition reimbursement.
NDP EMS is an equal opportunity employer.
