Ambulette Drivers
Job Description:The responsibilities of an ambulette driver include, but are not limited to: providing assisted transportation to persons requiring a wheelchair and/or stretcher.
Position Requirements: All prospective Ambulette Drivers must be at least 18 years of age, possess a high school diploma or it's equivalent, and have a New York State CDL with a passenger endorsement and no traffic violations.
Emergency Medical Technicians
Job Description:The responsibilities of an Emergency Medical Technician include, but are not limited to: providing Basic Life Support Services to ill and/ or injured persons in a pre-hospital setting and during inter-facility transport. EMT's also provide EMS for stand-by events. When working with a Paramedic partner the EMT may be requested to assist the Paramedic with setting up equipment and providing care. The EMT may be the care provider and/or driver of the ambulance, so it is important that you are comfortable with both roles. The EMT is also responsible for the equipment/ambulance checks at the beginning of each shift. Documentation of each call/patient contact is required if the EMT is the care provider.
Position Requirements: All prospective EMT's must be at least 18 years of age, possess current New York State Certification as an Emergency Medical Technician and CPR for the Professional Rescuer or it's equivalent, must possess a high school diploma or it's equivalent, and have a Valid New York State Driver's License with no traffic violations. National Registry status is an added plus, but not required.
Paramedics
Job Description:The responsibilities of the Paramedic include, but are not limited to: providing Advanced Life Support Services to ill and/ or injured persons in a pre-hospital setting and during inter-facility transport. Paramedics also provide EMS for stand-by events. The paramedic is responsible for equipment checks at the beginning of each shift. It is the responsibility to the Paramedic to assure that all ALS gear (including equipment, drugs, IV solutions, etc) are stocked as per State and Regional Guidelines. The Paramedic is also responsible for thorough documentation of each call/patient contact.
Position Requirements: All prospective Paramedics must be at least 18 years of age, possess current New York State Certification as an Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic, CPR for the Professional Rescuer or it's equivalent, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, must possess a high school diploma or it's equivalent, and have a Valid New York State Driver's License with no traffic violations. Applicants are recommended to also have current Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support, and have or be willing to acquire National Registry Status.
Dispatchers
Job Description:The responsibilities of the dispatcher are to take consumer calls and schedule transports accordingly. The dispatcher is also responsible for maintaining radio communication with all ambulettes, BLS Units, & ALS Units to assure that appointments will be kept and that EMS coverage is always maintained. The dispatcher should know the status of all units. The dispatcher is responsible for completing computer based documentation and should be familiar with basic computer applications.
Position Requirements: All prospective dispatchers must possess a high school diploma or it's equivalent. Applicants should have some level of training and/or experience in EMS. Previous dispatch experience is preferred, but not required. Current EMS certification is not required. Computer skills required.
